2nd Annual Summit on Intelligent Transportation System - Game changer for smart mobility

Intelligent Transport System is not something very new to the world of transportation but in Indian context it has started making its presence as largest population demands more vehicle which leads to heavy traffic chaos. An intelligent transport system (ITS) is a perfect method that provides solution related to different modes of traffic and transport management. As per recent study report, global intelligent transport system market to grow at CAGR of 8.70 % during 2017-21.

Recently NITI Aayog signed an agreement with “International Roads Federation” to develop a ITS Policy frame work in the country it includes traffic and parking management and to ensure road safety of passengers. Also under Smart city mission India moving ahead on this way to transform country’s transportation, for growth and development government has initiated $15 billion flagship programme which will help to give relief to booming cities from traffic jam.

One of the important sections of ITS goes through electric vehicle concept, as Hon’ble Transport Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari planning to transform country through electric mobility by 2030. Further NITI Aayog has prepared the document for the policy related to this concept so that investors can get such clarity. In this way Gujarat might be India’s first electric vehicle hub as state government signed a deal with a Chinese firm to set up their manufacturing unit to produce e-vehicle. According to the International Energy Agency, the 2030 target would require nearly 8 times the global stock of such vehicles which opens window of high investment opportunity in the country.
