Dr. P. Shanmugam is Ph.D (Civil/Env.Engg, Leeds, UK through Commonwealth Fellowship), M.S. (Civil/Env. Engg, IIT. Madras) & M.Sc, (Environmental Sciences). He is having 23 years of research, teaching, and leadership experience on leading the team of researchers in the area of Submerged Anaerobic Membrane separation technologies for water and waste water treatment for zero liquid and solid discharge, Bio-refinery producing biodiesel, bio-ethanol, biohydrogen and biomethane from Industrial and municipal organic solid and liquid wastes, atmospheric air pollution dispersion modeling, hybrid biological scrubber for H2S and CO2 removal etc. He has been awarded with Peter Wilson award as an example of outstanding research performance offered by British National Fuels Ltd AND University of Leeds, UK December .2009, Member Charted Institution of Waste Management (CIWM), UK, Commonwealth Fellowship for Ph.D by British Council UK – 2005, UNDP/GEF fellowship for Anaerobic Digestion training in European Countries during 2000, two Best Research paper award from the international conference on aerospace and climate change, Chennai, Royal Academy of Engineering, UK. International conference grand awarded for WHEC, Australia.
