Shri. V S Ailawadi is a former officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) with over 33 years of experience in Public Administration and Urban Infrastructure Development. He has served in the State as well as Central Government and in various capacities in different departments/ministries with the Government of India, which include Agriculture, Rural Development, Labour, Communication and Home Affairs & Urban Development. He has represented Government of India as a leader of the delegation to UNDP and ILO on sectional policy deliberations. He has also served as Chief Executive Officer of a premier Development Authority (DDA) for the metropolitan city of Delhi. He was appointed Head of the Task Force constituted for the revision of 2nd Master Plan for the National Capital, Delhi. He was also responsible for planning and implementation of major infrastructure projects for holding Asian Games 1982 in New Delhi. He was appointed as a member of the first national committee for privatization of existing and new airports on BDO & BOT basis. He was a member of the Finance Commission constituted by the Govt. of India from 1996 to 1998. He has also served as Consultant with the International Labour Organisation, Geneva on country projects.
