Dr. Sudhir Krishna
Dr. Sudhir Krishna was a member of the Indian Administrative Service since 1977, till superannuation in June 2014 as Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, where he was in-charge of urban planning, infrastructure development and urban transport. He was Chairman of the Metro Rail Corporations of Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Kochi and the Urban Mass Transit Company, a PPP venture. He has held senior positions in the Central Government in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Ministry of Fertilisers, Finance Commission and LBS National Academy of Administration, Mussooriein and in Karnataka, as Metropolitan Commissioner, Bangalore, Principal Secretary, Public Works, Ports & Inland Water Transport, Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Director Sugar, Divisional Commissioner etc. He holds a PhD in Federal Studies, from Jamia Hamdard, Delhi, Master of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh (USA) and MSc (Physics) from Benaras Hindu University. He has published several books and articles on issues relating to public administration, decentralised planning and public finance
