State discoms cut fuel surcharge
Consumers of state-owned power distribution companies (discoms) will have to pay less for the electricity they consume as the state government has decided to reduce fuel surcharge on power by 19 paise per unit for the period October to December 2020. The levy of reduced fuel surcharge by the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) affiliated discoms will translate into a relief of Rs 356 crore to GUVNL’s more than 1.40 crore consumers — all categories of customers except agriculture — in the state.
