Residents suffer amid AMC & MSEDCL’s confusion
Ahead of the construction of roads worth Rs100 crore, the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has asked residents and government agencies not to dig up roads for cable or pipe laying purposes once the roads are done. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Ltd (MSEDCL) has dug up old roads at various locations, causing huge inconvenience to people. As per the permission given by the AMC, the MSEDCL has dug up roads across the city to lay distribution cables under the ground. According to the rules, the AMC allows the power distribution company to dig up the roads on the condition that it refills or patches them up later.
