Rajasthan will provide 100 units of electricity free every month to each household from June 1, in line with the Congress government's budget declaration aimed at giving relief to more than 1 crore domestic consumers connected to the grid in the state.The new scheme will likely cost the state exchequer Rs 5,200 crore annually. Along with the existing subsidy - ranging from Rs 300 to Rs 750 - that remains open for anyone unwilling to opt for free power, the combined financial load is expected to be Rs 7,000 crore.
