Power tribunal blow to Reliance infra
The Appellate Tribunal for Electricity has upheld Odisha's Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC)'s decision to revoke licences of three power distribution companies - Wesco, Nesco and Southco - managed by Anil Ambani's Reliance Infrastructure Limited (R-Infra).The OERC had cancelled the licences on March 4, 2015, for the company's unsatisfactory performance and failure to support power reforms in the state. These companies were engaged in the distribution of power in the state since 1999.While Wesco was looking after distribution in west Odisha, Nesco catered to north Odisha and Southco's jurisdiction was the southern region. R-Infra has 51 per cent share in these discoms against 49 per cent owned by the state-run Grid Corporation of Odi.....
