The constant real estate development and creation of new industrial estates have created an ever-growing demand for electricity in the city. The peak demand for the city has touched around 3,100 mega watt (MW) and the maximum consumption per day now stands at 60.07 million units (MU).The mismatch between the growth of the population and power infrastructure development presents a stark picture mainly on the outskirts of the city.
