Nuclear power plants outage in Southern region touches 2,440 MWe
The nuclear power plants outage in Southern region touched 2,440 mega watts electricity (MWe) on February 12, after the Unit 1 of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP) in Tirunelveli stopped generation due to technical glitch.The power production from Unit 1 of KKNPP was suspended on February 12, due to reactor side problem, while the Unit 2 has been under shutdown since December 15, last year for maintenance work, according to Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO), under the Ministry of Power on Friday.Both the units had an installed capacity of 1,000 MWe each.
