Maharashtra power minister makes u-turn, says no waiver in electricity bills
In a u-turn, Maharashtra power minister Nitin Raut on Tuesday said that there will be no waiver in the electricity bills and the consumers will have to pay the bills. Raut had earlier announced that the state government would waive off the excessive bills after Diwali.“The electricity department is facing a loss of Rs 69,000 crore. We had demanded financial assistance from the Union government.
