Haryana: 24 policemen found stealing electricity

In a surprise raid conducted by the vigilance team of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam at the Police Lines in Gurgaon on Tuesday, 17 Haryana police officials were found stealing power, vigilance officials told India Today. "A Haryana Power Utilities vigilance team conducted a surprise raid and found 24 employees using illegal connections. While 17 were found using a direct supply from the mainline without meters while meters of seven others were found tempered with," a state government spokesperson said.The raids which were conducted in 500 flats at 6 am continued for more than five hours, the official said.
