Andhra Pradesh: Energy department looks to cut losses in power distribution
After the success of low-cost power procurement from spot market, the energy department is now contemplating a new scheme to reduce aggregate losses. The energy department is contemplating to reduce Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses to 12 per cent and reduce the gap between Aggregate Revenue Realised to Average Cost of Service (ACS-ARR) to zero.The AT&C losses stood at 13.36 per cent in 2019-20. The energy department has made progress on this front by reducing the losses from 16.36 per cent in 2018-19.
