The growth objective of the Rajasthan Road Sector Rejuvenation Project for India is to strengthen rural connectivity, increase road safety, and boost road sector management capacity of the state. We can divide project component in three different parts. 1.) The first component is rural connectivity improvement. This section will support construction of about 2500 kilometer (km) rural roads to provide connectivity to about 1,300 villages with population between 250 and 499 people in the areas of the state doesn’t come under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and introduce good practices of cost effective low volume technologies. 2.) The second component is road sector modernization and performance enhancement. This section will support implementation of a road sector modernization plan (RSMP) in the following key areas: a.) Improved policy framework b.) Modernization of engineering practices and business procedures c.) Sustainable asset management d.) Institutional and human resource development e.) Preparing a pipeline of feasible projects for implementation and enhancing governance and accountability in public works department (PWD). 3.) The third component is road safety management. The Government of Rajasthan has received assistance from the World Bank for preparing and implementing the Rajasthan Road Sector Modernization Project (RRSMP). Such projects will provide a major push to planned urbanization in the country besides providing a huge potential for employment, exports and industrial output, such development is going continuously through different projects such as MLP and CRF. As per current scenario in India where infrastructure contribution is very much important for overall development of the country Rajasthan has 2nd highest road construction during 2017-18, rapid pace of National Highway development in Rajasthan has ensured seamless connectivity to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, 36 projects total length of 1009.47 kms is In planning stage and in the coming years projects worth Rs 2 lakh cr have been planned for Rajasthan.
