pursued relentlessly to achieve the long-term strategic objectives.
As a strategy, exploration input is being optimized based on risk-reward
perception but, at the same time, it is invested optimally in different
categories of basins requiring different levels of intellectual and, physical
inputs.
Areas have been prioritized both for exploration input planning and knowledge
building for bringing more basins on the hydrocarbon map of India. The

. | | Quarter-wise oil & gas prices received by ONGC (Pre-discount & Post-discount) from 2005-06 to 2007-08 | As
per Government decision under-recoveries of OMCs in price sensitive products
i.e. Domestic LPG, PDS Kerosene, MS and HSD are shared by upstream companies.

. | | Note on initiatives taken in marketing of petro products & setting up of retail outlets by ONGC |
In addition to crude oil and
natural gas, ONGC's product-line also includes value added products, namely,
LPG, Naphtha, Kerosene, ATF, HSD, LSHS and C2-C3 (Ethane-Propane).
ONGC resorts
to direct marketing of some of its products in line with the Govt. guidelines
on the subject in addition to marketing through OMCs at market determined
prices. As per Govt. guidelines, Domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene are-continued to
be supplied to PSU Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) at Refinery Transfer Prices
fixed by Industry.
Due to domestic surpluses of Naphtha caused by steadily
increasing availability of Re-gasified LNG (RLNG), ONGC has been resorting to
direct exports ex-Hazira and JNPT in addition to sale in the domestic market.
Product-wise marketing practices for various products of ONGC
details can be had by clicking on the above link.
