Indian energy sector has seen major changes during the past decade. These changes were attributable to new policies, new initiatives and the strive to progress towards an energy sufficient society. The public sector energy organisations were pivotal in
maneuvering the country from times of distress to its flourish. Soon the closed economy of energy gave way to open economy leading to a growth of the private sector which not only raised the benchmark to international standards, but brought the dimension of competition among all the players.
It is the right time that we recognise the immense contribution of the people of energy industry for fuelling the country towards its growth. InfralineEnergy Excellence Awards 2007 is a humble effort on the part of InfralineEnergy to honour the iconic achievements of the entire energy industry, be it oil
and gas, power, coal or renewables during the past few years.
