Pakistan: Talks on with India over hydro projects differences
The National Assembly was informed on Wednesday that discussions are being held with India for the resolution of differences over five hydroelectric projects on western rivers. Replying to a question in the House, Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said design issues of Kishenganga, Ratle, Miyar, Lower Kainai and Pakal Dui are under discussion at the Indus Commission level. To another question the state minister said apart from more power generation, transmission lines will also have to be improved to enable the system to carry more power to consumers.
