In what could turn out to be one of the biggest election sops, the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd is drafting a proposal for a one-time settlement (OTS) scheme for consumers in rural as well as urban areas.
If all goes as per plan, the scheme will be launched by September-end. The scheme is also likely to cover farmers who have tubewells in the 5 KVA load category.
