Summary
Tamil Nadu highways department has sanctioned Rs 4,521 crore under the comprehensive road infrastructure development programme for this fiscal for improving state highways, major district roads and other district roads in various parts of the state.
This is a significant jump of 37% over the last year allocation. The area beneath road over bridges in and around Chennai will also be beautified with lawns, sculptures and vertical gardens as a special case.
